We would like to give a warm welcome to KCP´s newest Treasurer, Silvana Lucia Martinez, KCP Class of 2014. Silvana has a bachelor´s degree in Business Administration from Cesa University and studies ESCE International Business School.
We had the chance to talk to Silvana about her time here at KCP and how she feels to be back on campus.
How has your KCP experience impacted your life and the choices you have made in your career?
My KCP experience has had a great impact on my life and the choices I have made in my career. I´ve been part of the community since I was 4 years old, and KCP has helped me to develop intellectual and social skills, that have been crucial for my personal growth, well beyond my school years. Throughout school, I had so many good experiences, amazing relationships, and unforgettable memories, that I feel that I wouldn’t be the same without KCP.
What advice would you give KCP students?
Value your time at school, your friends, and your teachers. Set goals and work hard to achieve them. Take advantage of all the opportunities that the school has to offer. You might take for granted all the extracurricular activities, academic/social clubs, sports teams, and community service, but these are experiences that will teach a lot in many different aspects and will be very beneficial in the future.
What are some of your best memories or experiences from your time at KCP?
I’ve had so many memories and experiences during my years at KCP, but there’s one that jumps to my mind, Binationals. I loved being part of the soccer team since sixth grade and being able to travel around the country, creating lifelong connections, meeting new people, all while representing my school is an incredible highlight!
What makes you proud to be a member of the KCP community and what excites you the most about becoming KCP´s new Treasurer?
I’m very honored to be part of a community and institution, in which it’s the main goal is to recognize the value of every human being and his or her inalienable right to liberty, respect, and personal development. It excites me to be working in KCP and to be able to finally give back to the community that gave me so much.
