KCP Alumni Profiles, Publications

Upon Graduating from KCP, I moved to Boston, MA to study Music Therapy at the Berklee College of Music, several years later I pursued a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University (Los Angeles, CA). My experience as a music therapist and early childhood music educator inspired me to start writing bilingual children songs in order to raise my children bilingual. I have now released three bilingual albums and perform for families all over the United States. When I am not teaching, performing or working on new music, I contract for the Department of Mental Health and perform psychological assessments for at-risk children.

What is your greatest professional or personal achievement to date?

My greatest professional and personal achievement is being able to find the balance for all the things I love to do: Prioritizing time for my family and myself, in addition to writing music, recording, performing, and contributing to the community as a mental health therapist and educator.

How did KCP prepare you for your career?

KCP provided me with excellent bilingual education.

Why are you proud to be KCP?

I am proud of the level of education (world history, writing skills, sciences etc.) I received. I am also proud of the supportive friendships it provided me.

What advice would you give KCP students?

Practice gratitude. Disconnect from electronics and connect with people. Get out of your comfort zone. Do not compromise your integrity for other’s approval. Be persistent. Have goals but learn to be flexible. Be kind.
