Since graduation I earned the opportunity to go to Truett-McConnell College with the GA Rotary Scholarship. I spent two years there playing soccer and then was able to transfer to Kennesaw State University where I earned a Bachelors in Psychology. Upon graduation, I started working in the Marietta City School system as a teacher’s aid and decided to pursue a masters degree in teaching elementary students. The rest is history as they say, and I have now been teaching in the same school district for the last five years.
What are you currently doing?
Teaching 4th Grade
What is your greatest professional or personal achievement to date?
Other than my masters degree, this year I was selected to represent my school as Teacher of the Year. This is a huge honor as it is not only a reflection of what I do in my classroom every day, but also a reflection of how my co-workers view me as an educator.
How did KCP prepare you for your career?
KCP provided me with a strong foundation to be able to study and pursue a career in the United States.
What did you enjoy the most about studying at KCP?
The ability to balance academics and extra-curricular activities such as soccer, student-council, and many others. The community of teachers and students at KCP has no measure and I am fortunate to have found that where I work.
What advice would you give KCP´s students?
Say YES to every opportunity that is offered to you, you have nothing to lose. Pursue your passions, and on the road to success, being humble and kind to others is what will get you the farthest.
