Mu Alpha Theta is an internationally-known Mathematics Honor Society.
This organization is dedicated to inspiring a keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in High School and two-year college students. As of June 2017, more than 110,000 students are Mu Alpha Theta members at more than 2,400 Schools in the United States and in 20 foreign countries.
Character Counts! provides a common language and encourages appropriate responses to situations, building towards a consistently values-based use of autonomy.
First adopted at KCP in 2012, character education is instilled into existing curriculum, programs, classrooms and the daily life of the School. Signs, banners, hallway displays, student agendas, assemblies and an annual Character Counts! Week demonstrate the visibility of this program.
The National Honor Society is a nationwide organization for High School students in the United States and international schools, which consists of many chapters in High Schools.
Students who excel in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character may be nominated for membership in the National Honor Society or National Junior Honor Society. The purpose is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, promote leadership, stimulate a desire to offer service, and develop character in secondary students.
Model United Nations (MUN) provides a simulation where young minds from across Colombia unite to discuss, in an intelligent and thoughtful manner, diverse issues that the world is currently facing.
This is a demanding motivational experience that takes place in a student-centered learning environment. Participants are constantly challenged through high-level discussions and debates that enhance their argumentation and diplomatic skills. KCP´s MUN allows students to acquire the characteristics of a well-rounded individual by allowing them to grow and learn to cooperatively resolve real-world problems, expressing their ideals and gaining a deeper global perspective.
