One of the best ways to teach Character
KCP students from grades 10-12th raise money and built homes each year to help the less privileged obtain better living conditions. Working with TECHO, our students take active part in this great project for overcoming extreme poverty in Colombia by offering dignified homes to families in need.
The process of collecting these funds takes a great deal of commitment an effort on behalf of our students, who put in many hours to achieve the maximum amount of money each year. In 2018, our students stepped up once again and were able to collect the funds needed to build 6 houses and a Community Center in Puerto Colombia on the weekend of the 28 and 29 of April. More than 100 volunteers that included students, staff members and parents, worked together very hard to build these homes by digging holes, naling, painting and cleaning.
The weekend was physically challenging for everyone but the rewards were well worth it when we saw the expressions of excitement and pride in the faces of the new families what received these new homes and that had also worked with us hand in hand to make this dream come true.
