It was a pleasure to have this year’s special guest, Omar T\u00e9llez Echeverri, KCP Class of 1986.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Tellez spoke to the Graduating Class of 2021 about how KCP provided him with his unlimited love of learning, his best friends to this day, and his happiest years. He also shared with them his key learnings in life.<\/p>\n

Mr. T\u00e9llez is a serial technology entrepreneur\/executive in the areas of mobile public transportation\/mapping, mobile gaming, augmented reality, and telecommunications. He has been part of multiple successful exits in the technology space, including:<\/span><\/p>\n

He has been quoted and published in a variety of technology business, and media publications
\nincluding Business Week, Forbes, TechCrunch (Regular Contributor), Washington Post and
\nSemana\/Dinero among others.<\/p>\n

Mr. T\u00e9llez was a founding member and Chair of The Messaging, Malware and Mobile Anti-Abuse Working
\nGroup (M3AAWG), the world\u2019s most influential cybersecurity organization. Currently, he is the Chairman
\nEmeritus of this organization.<\/p>\n

He is a regular presenter and moderator at leading industry events such as the Consumer Electronics Show
\n(CES), the Mobile World Congress (MWC-Barcelona) and the Rutberg & Co. Wireless Influencers
\nConference.<\/p>\n

Mr. T\u00e9llez holds a Master in Business Administration with High Honors from the Walter A. Haas School of
\nBusiness, University of California at Berkeley (1996) and a Bachelor in Science in Industrial Engineering from
\nUniversidad de Los Andes (1991).<\/p>\n

He currently serves as Alto Consejero Tecnolog\u00eda y Emprendimiento (ad honorem) to Barranquilla\u2019s
\nMayor, Jaime A. Pumarejo, and as an advisor to the Secretary of Communications of the Republic of
\nColombia.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s an active investor in Technology startup companies which include among others YourParade.com
\nand Boards.<\/p>\n

After living in California for over fifteen years, Mr. T\u00e9llez moved to the East Coast. He settled in Princeton,
\nNJ with his wife Yamile Slebi and their three children Camila, Isabel, and Manuel. Camila, the founder of
\nyourparade.com, was recently selected as a member of the 2021 cohort of Forbes\u2019 Magazine Thirty Under
\nThirty –the most successful 30 people under the age of 30.<\/p>\n
