Rock on, VALÉ! A massive shoutout to Valentina Vilariño Peña (@valeinallcaps), KCP Class of 2021, for embarking on her inaugural US tour as direct support for The Driver Era, playing 21 shows across the East Coast and Midwest. We’d also like to extend our congratulations on her upcoming single from her debut EP, ‘chill like that.’ We can’t wait to see what’s in store for her career! Once A Tiger, Always A Tiger!

We had the chance to talk to VALÉ about her career and her memories as a KCP student:

How has your experience at KCP influenced your life and the decisions you’ve made in your career?

My experience at KCP impacted the way I navigate my career and relationships. Being a KCP student inspired me to want to be better and work hard to reach my goals. Since I was little it was ingrained in me to work to get to where I want to be. I think it’s paying off!!

What advice would you offer to KCP students, particularly those interested in pursuing a career path similar to yours in the arts?

I would say be brave, be smart, surround yourself with people who have good energy, and want to genuinely see you shine. Take advantage of every day and opportunity that comes your way. YOLO.

Could you share some of your fondest memories or experiences from your time at KCP?

I honestly loved my whole freshman year! It was such a fun time. I loved being in the Rock Band and being able to play music with my friends, I was able to practice how to sing live back then and break my stage fright a little!

What aspects of being a part of the KCP Family make you proud?

The fact that I was able to build lifelong friendships with people I met at KCP will always bring me pride.
