We are proud to celebrate our alumnus, German Herrera (KCP Class of 1986 and former Commencement Speaker), on being elected Chair of Egon Zehnder, one of the world’s premier leadership advisory firms. He assumed the role on March 1, 2026, following his election by the firm’s worldwide partnership. ✨
German’s journey from KCP to global leadership is an inspiring example of excellence, purpose, and lifelong impact. After graduating from Karl C. Parrish, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He later served as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company before joining Egon Zehnder in 1998 in Bogotá.
Over nearly three decades at Egon Zehnder, German has built an extraordinary global career. He has helped shape the firm’s presence across markets and leadership practices, including co-leading the Global Family Business Advisory Practice, serving on the Executive Committee and Market Council, leading the U.S. market, and playing a foundational role in opening the firm’s Bogotá office.
His election is especially meaningful as he becomes the first Latinx person to hold this role in the industry, a reflection of his values-driven, inclusive leadership and his deep commitment to helping organizations unlock leadership potential, build high-performing teams, and develop diverse talent.
This tribute was written by his close friend, classmate from the Class of 1986, and current member of the KCP Board of Trustees, Omar Tellez, who highlights German’s integrity, humility, and inspiring leadership throughout his remarkable journey.
This recognition highlights German’s outstanding professional journey and the global impact of KCP alumni who continue to lead with purpose, integrity, and excellence. Congratulations, German! #KCPExcellingForward 💚🐯
