In this edition of Alumni Spotlight, we have Carlos Andrés Rodado Grijalba, Class of 2007, who took office a few days ago as Deputy Comptroller for Public Management and Financial Institutions.
Carlos has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Universidad del Norte with an Executive MBA from Westfield Business School. He holds a specialization in International Cooperation for Development from Universidad Externado de Colombia.
He previously served as Director of Planning and Strategic Development at OEI Colombia, where directed the guidelines and cooperation offerings with Multilateral Organizations, the Government, the Private Sector, and the Academic Sector.
He worked as Administrative Manager at Compañía de Seguros de Vida Aurora SA, leading the modernization of technological infrastructure and brand renewal in its strategic plan. He also worked as a Financial Manager, focusing on financial direction and the viability of investment projects.

How has my experience at KCP influenced my life and career decisions? Attending Karl C. Parrish (KCP) was instrumental in shaping my academic foundation and personal development. The school provided a rigorous curriculum that instilled critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which have been invaluable throughout my career. Moreover, KCP emphasized the importance of integrity and ethical conduct, qualities that are fundamental in my role as Contralor Delegado at the Contraloria General de la República.
What advice would I offer to KCP students interested in a similar career path? I would encourage students to pursue excellence in their studies and to actively seek opportunities to develop leadership and analytical skills. Internships and extracurricular activities can provide valuable hands-on experience. It’s also important to maintain a strong sense of ethics and accountability, as these principles are fundamental in public service.
Could I share some fond memories from my time at KCP? My time at KCP was filled with memorable experiences, from participating in academic competitions to forming lasting friendships with classmates and teachers. The supportive environment and camaraderie among students contributed to a positive and enriching educational experience.
What makes me proud to be part of the KCP Family? Being part of the KCP community is a source of pride for me because of the school’s commitment to academic excellence and character development.
