Alumni Spotlight: Meet Luis Eduardo Tovar Puccini, KCP Class of 1996, CEO of Argos Honduras, where he leads the company’s expansion and growth strategy in the Honduran market.
Luis Eduardo has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Lincoln, an MBA from Emory University, and further studies from Harvard and MIT. He has been working at Argos for more than 18 years in leadership roles within the company.
We had the chance to talk to him about his career and how KCP has impacted both his personal and professional lives.
How has your KCP experience impacted your life and the choices you have made in your career?
My time at KCP has profoundly shaped both my personal and professional lives. The diverse curriculum and the emphasis on holistic education instilled in me a love for continuous learning and adaptability—qualities that are indispensable in my current career. The support and encouragement from the faculty encouraged me to pursue my passions relentlessly, teaching me the value of perseverance and resilience in the face of challenges. These experiences have not only guided my career path but also influenced the way I approach problems and opportunities in my professional life.
What advice would you give KCP students? And especially those who would like to take a career path similar to yours?
To the students of KCP, especially those interested in following a similar career path as mine, my advice is threefold: First, embrace every learning opportunity, not just in your field of interest but also in other disciplines. Interdisciplinary knowledge can provide unique perspectives and solutions in your career. Second, cultivate soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and leadership as diligently as you pursue academic excellence. These skills are often the differentiators in the professional world. Lastly, never underestimate the power of networking. Start building meaningful relationships within and outside the KCP community. These connections can open doors to unexpected opportunities.
What are some of your best memories or experiences from your time at KCP?
Looking back at my school days, it feels like a bunch of awesome memories all mashed together, especially the times spent with my friends. Being the STUCO President was pretty epic—not just because I got to lead, but also because of all the fun (and chaos) of trying to make school cooler for everyone. Then there were the science projects, which were like diving into a whole new world every time, figuring stuff out, sometimes messing up, but always learning something cool in the end. And, oh, working on the yearbook was the cherry on top. It was like being the behind-the-scenes hero, capturing all those unforgettable moments and faces and making sure none of us would forget the good times we had. Through all of this, it was my friends who made every bit of it unforgettable. We shared laughs, pulled all-nighters, and just had each other’s backs. These memories are like snapshots of a time when every day was a new adventure, learning new things, leading with a bit of swagger, and just being there for each other.
Pride in Being Part of the KCP School Family:
Being a part of KCP fills me with an immense sense of pride, not just because of the education I received but also because of the school’s holistic approach that shaped me into the person I am today. It’s about far more than just books and exams; it’s about how we, as KCP, develop citizens who contribute immensely to our communities, making real, positive impacts and offering help where it’s needed most. This sense of responsibility and commitment instilled in us is something I carry with pride. Our school’s dedication to nurturing not only academic excellence but also personal growth, emotional intelligence, and social awareness has been a game-changer. It laid the foundations of my character, teaching me the values of empathy, leadership, and the importance of giving back. Reflecting on my school years, I realize how these experiences have sculpted me into who I am, embedding a deep-seated belief in the power of education that goes beyond the classroom, touching lives, and making a difference in the world. This unique blend of academic rigor and values is what sets KCP apart, and being a part of this journey is something I’ll always be proud of.
