All ORC students and their parents are supported by our team of caring and dedicated professionals
The Optimal Resource Center offers specially designed programs and strategies to help students with learning differences to develop their strengths and support their individual needs.
ORC students also receive the appropriate adjustments and accommodations needed within the general classroom in order to participate fully and display their potential.
The Three Tiers
A team-centered approach and multi-tiered support system guidelines determine ORC placement.
Our support system consists of three tiers which aim to target individual needs.
The first tier
Includes differentiated instruction and 21st century learning practices performed by the classroom teacher.
The second tier
Includes targeted instruction, 21st century learning practices, our Early Intervention Program for Preschool and First Grade, and Office Hours for Middle School and High School. Services might include an Individualized Accommodation Plan (IAP).
The third tier is support
An individualized Education Plan (IEP) is developed to offer more specialized strategies and accommodations to meet the cognitive, emotional, social, or behavioral learning needs of students with learning challenges or special needs.
