Parting with the century-old factory model of education
Blended Learning focuses on combining the best practices of traditional classroom instruction and the use of technology to improve learning outcomes for students. Teachers can customize students’ learning to fit their individual needs and students receive control over time, place, path, or pace as well as immediate feedback.
In a blended learning classroom, the teacher becomes a facilitator, students become active owners of their learning, modalities of learning expand, and learning is personalized. Transforming today’s traditional classroom to the 21st century classroom is a complex endeavor.
Starting August 2015 Colegio Karl C. Parrish adopted phase one of a formal Blended Learning education program. The program design is based on best-practice research that has been carried out by Redbird Learning and Stanford University. This program is supported by our solid technology infrastructure and the BYOL (Bring Your Own Laptop) program for grades 3 through 12.

What we offer to students
Blended Learning ensures that learning objectives are taught through interactive activities including simulation tools and projects that test the learner’s grasp of the concept and provide timely feedback.
Teachers receive instructor guidance with every learning objective and have opportunities to interact directly with experts and peers throughout the experience.
14-18 hours of multi-modal content presented in 20-30 minute segments. Training includes: short videos, activities, readings, social learning, and instructor guidance.
Technology
Blended Learning Resources
All classrooms have video and audio resources, and all Staff members have an iPad and a laptop to support their teaching. Students from first to twelfth grade have access to their own device, in order to support personalized learning (1:1). Teachers have multiple resources to enrich the learning experience, such as virtual expeditions through Google Expeditions.
