Our teaching methods are based on the best of traditional teaching practices combined with the latest uses of technology. The specific strategies used in each classroom are determined partly on subject matter to be taught and partly by the nature and preferences of the learner.
We are pioneers in Colombia for implementing Reggio Emilia, 21st Century Learning and Character Counts. Our students can graduate with both High School and Colombian Diplomas.
Reggio Emilia
The Reggio Emilia approach sees the child as the main protagonist of their own learning experience. Children explore interesting subjects and express their ideas in diverse ways.
Group work and collaboration characterize this learning philosophy and encourage students to think critically and creatively and to continuously seek to expand their knowledge.
21st Century Learning
21st Century Learning focuses on combining best practices from traditional classroom instruction and the most advanced technological tools available to improve learning outcomes for students.
Teachers customize student learning to fit individual needs and students may have control over time, place, path, or pace as well as immediate feedback on their efforts.
The program is based on best-practice research. It is supported by our solid technology infrastructure and the BYOL (Bring Your Own Laptop) expectation for grades 3 through 12.
Advanced Placement
AP courses help High School students prepare to achieve their dreams for post-secondary education.. These courses allow them to dig deeper into the subjects they love. By taking an AP course and scoring successfully on the related AP Exam, students can study abroad, save on college tuition, and even secure a second major.
At KCP we currently offer the following AP Courses: Calculus AB, Physics 1, Physics 2, English Literature, English Language, spanish Literature, Spanish Language, Biology, Microeconomics, US History and Chemistry.
ORC
Taking care of each student’s learning process
At KCP we provide all of our students with their best chances of success. The ORC looks at each student individually and offers specially designed programs and strategies to help them with learning differences to develop their strengths.
ORC:

The admission process at KCP is about taking the time to really get to know prospective students and their families and to let them get to know us.
KCP’s roots are intertwined with those of the city of Barranquilla and the families responsible for its early growth.
Solving the problems of society and helping the less fortunate are an important part of KCP’s mission. It is also a fundamental way to teach values and encourage positive character traits.
