Last week we enjoyed an evening of music and talent during KCP’s Music Festival, an amazing competition that brings families and friends together year after year to celebrate young talent, bringing out the best in all the participating bands that came over from different schools, both nationwide and in Barranquilla.
This musical competition, now in its third year, has been possible thanks to our students who wanted to establish a yearly event of these characteristics, that would allow them to exhibit their talent and compete with other students.
The festival was a unique opportunity for these young groups to have an important and unforgettable artistic experience. This year, the competition brought together 8 school bands from Barranquilla and one from Pereira: Gimnasio Inglés, Colegio Altamira, Colegio San José, Berckley School, Colegio Galileo Galilei, American School, and KCP. Each band presented 3 rock or pop musical pieces that included interpretations of songs such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Crazy and Pa’Maité, among many others.
We would like to recognize New Business, KCP’s band, for their hard work, discipline, and dedication over the past few months of intense rehearsals. The band was made up by students from grades 9 to 12, who had been designing their musical work for quite a long time, featuring strong female voices. They had the chance to demonstrate their interpretative skills in the electric guitar, bass guitar, and drums, among other instruments. Great work Tigers, you rocked!
Congratulations are in order for Gimnasio Inglés for winning 1st Place in this year´s Music Festival and to Colegio Altamira for winning 2nd place!
