From March 1-4, KCP students will be participating in the 45th edition of the National High School Model United Nations Annual Conference (NHSMUN).
Founded in 1975, NHSMUN hosts more than 5,000 high school students from around the world, who gather to simulate sessions of the United Nations in New York City. This is a project of the International Model United Nations Association (IMUNA), a non-profit educational organization formally associated with the United Nations Department of Public Information.
All students attending NHSMUN will represent United Nations diplomats and will reflect upon the views and policies of their assigned countries, in a series of specialized committees and plenary sessions. By participating in the conference, this team of KCP students will have an unparalleled opportunity to explore the intricacies of international affairs. Through consensus building, compromise, and diplomacy, they will also be able to debate many of today’s most pertinent international issues with other students and will gain valuable lessons in communication, public speaking, and global issues education, all while having access to United Nations diplomats and officials.
The KCP students participating in this Model are:
- 12th grade: Isabella Nassar, Angela Baquero
- 11th grade: Camila Carvajales, Sofia Isaac, María Paula De La Hoz
- 10th grade: Pedro Blanco
