Character is the real foundation of all worthwhile success

KCP’s Character Counts! program is a framework for teaching ethical decision-making, centered on Six Fundamental Values: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.

Character Counts! at KCP

Character Counts! provides a common language and encourages appropriate responses to situations, building towards a consistently values-based use of autonomy.

First adopted in 2012, character education is instilled into existing curriculum, programs, classrooms and the daily life of the School. Signs, banners, hallway displays, student agendas, assemblies and an annual Character Counts! Week demonstrate the visibility of this program.

KCP has also adopted the Character Counts! sports program, Victory with Honor, which gives coaches tools to build athletes’ character and broaden their understanding of what it takes to be a true champion.
